Vest: Zara (similar & on sale) // Leather jacket: Izzue // Tee: Zoe Karssen // Shirt: J. Crew // Necklace: Ann Taylor // Jeans: Joe's Jeans // Shoes: Converse I took advantage of the slightly warmer temps this week to ditch the big coat and layer up instead. I wish I could just live in these destroyed jeans - they're my current favorite! Photos by Lauren ...

If you guys follow me on Instagram or have been reading my blog at all, you'll know I really like Gwyneth Paltrow's cookbook, My Father's Daughter. I've roasted a chicken, made her mac and cheese,  her fried zucchini pasta, her pancakes, and most recently, her turkey bolognese.  While browsing Amazon yesterday I saw It's All Good - her second cookbook coming out in April! You can bet I immediately pre-ordered it. Gwyneth is a self-proclaimed foodie, and if going by the recipes in her first cookbook is any indication, she has good taste and enjoys flavorful food!  What's...

Sweater: J. Crew (similar) // Top: NSF // Belt: Zara (similar) // Jeans: J. Crew (similar) // Booties: Zara (similar) // Bag: Louis Vuitton I wore this outfit to a friend's birthday party (obviously with a coat and scarf!) - the sleeveless silk top was perfect for layering with a cashmere cardigan to keep me warm without adding bulk, which is key for winter layering. By the time Lauren took the last shots, we had to go because she said my nose was getting red. Ah, the fun of being a style blogger! Photos by Lauren ...

Photo via my Instagram How was your weekend? Mine was altogether very relaxing - caught up on a lot of sleep, and I finally made Gwyneth's Turkey Bolognese (photo above! For the recipe, scroll to the bottom of this post), which took about 4 hours longer than I thought it would (why everyone should always read a recipe all the way through before starting...haha). But it was delicious! SO good. I highly recommend it, so go and make it! I also started working out again (stopped for a while because I was sick) - and it's pretty pathetic...

Image via Happy Friday, everyone!  Who read Archie Comics as a kid? I loved them - and still do - I found a giant edition in the bargain section of Barnes and Noble about six months ago and devoured it! My friend and I even dressed up as Betty and Veronica for Halloween about 5 years ago - I was Veronica, of course. Anyway, the reason I bring this is up is because MAC is coming out with an "Archie's Girls" line (available online Jan 30th, in NYC MAC stores Jan 31st, and everywhere else Feb 7th-Apr 4th),...

We were going to brunch/lunch at my favorite Shanghainese food place (so far) in the city, Shanghai Cafe. It...

Vest: Zara kids // Hoodie: T by Alexander Wang // Tee: J. Crew // Jeans: AG Jeans // Boots: Uggs // Bag: Alexander Wang I recently picked up this sweater/hoodie on mega sale, and LOVE it. It's so incredibly soft (the body is lined in fleece!) and thick that it's perfect for these sub-zero temperatures we've been having - and I can't help but love the contrast sleeves and hood. The pale pink pants paired with the mint tee are the perfect colors to combat a harsh wintery day, keeping me hopeful for spring! Photos by Lauren ...

Stairs image via, design by me Happy Monday - and Martin Luther King, Jr. day! I hope most of you have today off - I do, for once! Highlight of my weekend was the Niners winning the NFC Championship game (I was so nervous the entire game, then started sweating towards the end of it - it wasn't an easy game to watch!!) and going on to the Superbowl! Beat the Ravens!!! haha  Of course, what would a weekend be without good food? Granted I ended up being too lazy to grocery shop and cook the turkey bolognese...

Image via It's the coldest day we've had so far today in NYC - at least, that I can remember! This is a long weekend for me as we have a short day at work today and Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. day - yay! Plans this weekend are to make Gwyneth's Turkey Bolognese (for the first time!), and I've got a birthday party to attend tomorrow, then of course spending Sunday afternoon cheering on the Niners!  What are you looking forward to this weekend? ...

My friend from uni, Jen (and her sister Elena), of Tea for Two, nominated my little blog for The Liebster Award! (Thank you ladies!!) The award is meant for blogs with less than 200 followers to increase readership and help discover new blogs along the way. As part of the award, I'm meant to answer their questions as well as share 11 facts about myself, so here goes! Jen & Elena's questions: 1. What's the most rewarding thing about blogging, for you? I just love having an outlet for my creative side, and I have always loved reading...

Sweater: Madewell (old) // Skirt: Topshop (Similar; Last seen here) // Tights: Hue // Socks: Madewell (on sale in stores) // Boots: Vince Camuto (old) // Necklace: mark. I love this skirt so much but hadn't quite figured out another outfit with it until the other morning when I realized the blue of the sweater (and the sportier vibe of it) would be perfect to set off the color & the girly-ness of the skirt. Happy Monday! How was your weekend?  Here's a recap of mine in photos: -Hadn't been to Shake Shack in forever, so I suggested we meet there before going to The Met! It was as delicious as always, and I was quite indulgent and got a chocolate shake to go along with my meal...mmm. Image via The Met (mine didn't quite capture how great the colors are!) -Checked out the Matisse exhibit then the George Bellows one (but no photos were allowed), and wandered around the galleries for a bit picking up some color inspiration for future outfits -...

Image via The Selby Happy Friday friends! This weekend I'm: -Looking forward to the 49ers v Packers game - let's go Niners! -Hosting a taco night at home for the game - something simple, not altogether unhealthy or carb-heavy, but still totally delicious -Heading to the Met to check out the Matisse exhibit, and possibly also going to the MoMA after for the abstraction exhibit -Gonna read the books I picked up from the library - I'm currently in the middle of Gone Girl, and next up are The Romantics and American Heiress (I'll post reviews of all...

I am happy to say I have another list of books to read - the worst is wanting to read something, but not knowing what. Here's my current list: 1. The American Heiress - This has actually been on and off my reading list, but it was recently recommended to me again so it's back on! It's a novel set at the turn of the twentieth century about a wealthy American woman who marries someone in Europe with a title and no cash and everything that ensues thereafter. (I love a good historical fiction!) 2. The Romantics -...

Vintage Seventeen Magazine Illustration, via How was your weekend? Mine was awesome - restful and productive! The Beatrix Potter Picture Letters exhibit at The Morgan Library & Museum was absolutely adorable - I have a soft spot for children's books and illustrations, so I was in heaven! Unfortunately no photography was allowed, but if you're in NYC I highly recommend going before it ends at the end of this month! I also made a tortilla soup and Gwyneth's mac and cheese this weekend - the mac and cheese ended up being a little dry, so I added more...

Image via The Sartorialist Happy first Friday of 2013! How is it that short weeks after holidays always still feel the longest? Maybe it's because I've been battling a cold this week as well, but I can't wait for some R&R this weekend! I can't wait to recover so I can start working out again - am really loving my Tone It Up workouts so far (I've only tried 3 of the 7), and want to try my ballet one as well, which I've read is absolutely killer. I'm also going to The Morgan Library & Museum for...
