Fall: Reading & Watching

If you know anything about me, you'll know that I'm always looking for my next read. Although this list is much shorter than my summer reading list (which I'm proud to say I managed to read all but one of them...), I'm still very much looking forward to reading the following:

Can you believe I've never read this book? That's really my main motivation for having this book on my fall reading list, plus I love young adult books (and, ok, the occasional middle-reader mermaid novel), and I can't believe I missed out on this one! (And with the movie coming out, I suppose this could technically go in the "watching" category, only I like to read the book before I watch the movie version of anything.)

I love Ellen, and I'm not sure why I haven't read any of her books. This one is her latest.

I was browsing Amazon one day looking for new reads and this one popped up somehow - it's a non-fiction "inspiring true story" (Lauren you'll love that part about it) about a mother & son after she is diagnosed with a fatal cancer, and bonding over books. Anything about books bringing people together and I'm a fan. Plus, it sounds like it's very well-written!

I love fall in New York (although I hate how much the temperatures can change from one day to the next!), and these two movies are ones I break out every year during this time:

One of my favorite lines from this movie is "Don't you love New York in the fall? It makes me wanna buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address." (Joe Fox, in an email to Kathleen), and that pretty much sums up how I feel about fall and about stationery and school supplies. (This is one of my all-time favorite movies, and yes, I'm a total romantic!)

This movie makes me cry. Every. Time. I watch it! Regardless, it also starts off in the fall and is also set in New York, and I love it.

What will you be reading & watching this fall?

  1. I love Stepmom. It had to have been one of my favorites when I was younger. Ever since blogging, working full time, and running MG I have not picked up a book. Can you believe that! LAME. I need to get it together lol.
