Eye Candy: À La Plage
Monday, July 23, 2012
Happy Monday! Who else is feeling slightly bleary-eyed from the weekend? I have my first steaming cup of coffee sitting next to me, and I'm hopeful that after it's gone I'll feel bright-eyed and ready to take on the week! (Gotta be some serious coffee to expect that much...but I'm always an optimist.)
I am sorely in need of some eye candy today, so here we go!
I first discovered these from Honestly WTF's blog, and loved them so much that I had to share them too!

1, 2 and 3: Hamptons // 4, 5, and 6: St. Tropez
They're by a photographer named Gray Malin (how cool is that name?), and they're part of a series, "À la Plage, À la Piscine". (For those of you who know a little French, yes he also does aerial shots of pools.) From his website:
Shooting from doorless helicopters, this series has been photographed around the world from the U.S. to Brazil to Australia. From above, a simple beach or pool becomes a blank canvas that allows me to start seeing the world as art. People and objects become patterns creating repetition, shape and form. These photographs are a visual celebration of color, light, shape--and summer bliss.
Love them! If I had a beach house/summer home - excuse me, when I have a beach house/summer home, I'll buy and frame a print or two and hang them on a gallery wall.
