I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent mine dog sitting for my sister's friend:

How adorable is he? He's such a cuddly pup that he's almost more like a cat. haha. And he was so good! We told his owner that Pat is welcome back anytime at all.

Left to right: In the Conservatory (Albert Bartholome, ca. 1881) - the actual dress was on display too, it's crazy how tiny women's waists were!; Camille (Claude Monet, 1866); July: Specimen of a Portrain (James Tissot, 1878)

Yesterday I went to The Met for the Impressionism, Fashion, and Modernity exhibit. I loved it! I wish I could have taken pictures to post here, but you can get an idea from the photo of the postcards I bought, above. (Although, of course, the real paintings are much more impressive!) It was so interesting especially in light of all the street style photos and fashion bloggers today - same kind of idea, but a totally different medium. The exhibit explains the beginning of art changing from portraits with the focal point on the subject, to the focal point adjusting to the subject's outfit and dress, set in day-to-day scenarios, such as picnicking in the park, coming into the conservatory (postcard on the left), and the like. If you live in New York or are coming before the exhibit ends on May 27, I highly recommend it!

What did you get up to this weekend?

  3. Awww....Pat is sooo adorable and you look really cute in these 2 photos with him:)

You won't believe this but i didn't visit any museums when i visited New York during my 2 weeks staying there a few years back,lol....i told myself i'll def be going back to the big apple for the arty stuff!!!! I really wanna go to the MOMA!!!

I love the postcards you got from the Met, they remind me of the Frida Kahlo postcards i got during her exhibition in Tate Modern in London, years back, like 2005,lol. Btw, which museum do you think is a must go if people are visiting new york????

I did nothing but laze around at home and cleaned a bit and chilled with some friends that were visiting from Toronto, over Japansese dinner and delish plum wine. Relaxing weekends are the best!
